TPRS Workshop Successfully Held
On the afternoon of May 18th, teachers and students in international Chinese language teaching and foreign language studies gathered at the TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) Workshop, and experienced a foreign language teaching methodology that is similar to teaching a native language. Kim, the author of TPRS textbooks and storybooks with 15-year experience in second-language teaching, was the teacher at the workshop. Under the guidance of Kim, the participants enjoyed a special entry-level language learning experience. Kim selected a language that’s new to all participants. It took only half an hour before participants learned to greet each other and merely one and a half hours before they can understand and speak dozens of words and make daily conversations.
